Bhai Shinder Singh Raju was born in the house of Sardar Pakhar Singh and from the womb of Mata Gurdev Kaur at village Jajja Khurd, district Jalandhar. Sardar Pakhar Singh and Mata Gurdev Kaur were blessed with two daughters and four sons, Bibi Paramjit Kaur, Bibi Gurdeep Kaur, Bhai Jarnail Singh, Bhai Surjit Singh, Bhai Joga Singh and Shaheed Bhai Shinder Singh Raju. This family was economically a middle-class family and did agriculture. Bhai Shinder Singh had passed his 10th grade examination from High School in village Apra. After this, he gave up further studies and started farming with his family. A good player of cricket and kabaddi, Bhai Shinder Singh was named ‘Bhai’ when he joined the Sikh struggle because he used to recite Gurbani a lot.

 

The third bloodbath in Sikh history occurred during June 1984, Bhai Shinder Singh’s heart was also very sad like the Sikhs living all over the world, he became very depressed. The family brought up the matter of Anand Karaj but Bhai Shinder Singh avoided the conversation. When the Sikh struggle was in full swing in the Doaba area, Bhai Shinder Singh Raju started supporting Bhai Gurdeep Singh Deepa Heranwala, Lieutenant General of Khalistan Commando Force. Starting as a path of refuge, this journey escalated into Jhujaru actions. Bhai Shinder Singh Raju took part in punishing the traitors of the Sikh nation, the detractors of the Guru houses and the informers of the police.

 

Sarvan Cheema, Tirath Ram of Barapind and mill owner of Apra village, the staunch enemies of the Sikh nation were all guided to hell along with police cats. Avenged the martyrdom of Bhai Ranjit Singh Bittu by killing the brother of Amir Chand of Shahpur. It is worth mentioning that Bhai Ranjit Singh Bittu went to talk to Amir Chand, the candidate standing in the elections, his brother made Bhai Bittu a Shaheed by hitting him on the head with a pipe. Bhai Shinder Singh Raju finished off Amir Chand’s brother by removing him from the tempo.

 

Bhai Gurdeep Singh Deepa’s martyrdom took place on 12th December 1992, Bhai Shinder Singh Raju was very sad. He did not eat for two days. It was only 12 days after the martyrdom of Bhai Gurdeep Singh Deepa, who was like an elder brother, that on 24th December 1992, Bhai Shinder Singh Raju was going on a scooter with one of his companions, and on the way, an encounter with the Punjab police started at a checkpoint. Bhai Shinder Singh Raju was martyred during this police encounter near village Dyalpur. While his companion was arrested and later DSP of Phillaur, Kamaljit Dhillon showed the encounter in the media in which both Jhujaru Singhs were killed. This Kamaljit Dillon had martyred many Sikh youths in the Phillaur area. Due to which the government promoted it and gave him the rank of a SP. When he was Inspector under Nawashaher Sub Division, he martyred seven Sikh youths who had surrendered. Due to which he was made DSP from Inspector.
