Shaheed Bhai Sahib Singh Muchal 

Khalistan Liberation Force

 

Shaheed Bhai Sahib Singh was born on 31st January 1958 in Village Muchal, District

Sri Amritsar Sahib to Mata Prakash Kaur and Sardar Manna Singh. After studying till 10th standard, Bhai Sahib went to Delhi and studied for some time. His Anand Karaj was done with Bibi Balwinder Kaur, and they had two sons, Sukhjinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh and a daughter, Satinder Kaur.

 

Bhai Mehtab Singh Bhangu was a Jhujaru Singh of Khalistan Liberation Force and was also the cousin of Bhai Sahib. One day, Bhai Sahib told Bhai Mehtab Singh that he also wanted to fight beside his Jhujaru brothers. Bhai Mehtab Singh replied, “This path is very difficult, there can an encounter anytime and we may attain martyrdom.” Bhai Sahib was still wanting to join the Jhujaru Singhs in the battle for freedom, eventually Bhai Mehtab Singh introduced Bhai Sahib to Bhai Tasbeer Singh Jhander and Bhai Palwinder Singh Sona, who both were part of Khalistan Liberation Force also. It was from here onwards Bhai Sahib started taking part in Jhujaru actions in secret. Bhai Sahib was assigned the task of delivering letters, which he fulfilled with sincerity and dedication, and supported the Jhujaru Singhs in every way. The Jhujaru Singhs of Khalistan Liberation Force called Bhai Sahib the postman of the organisation.

 

On 11th February 1993, Bhai Sahib Singh was working in his fields at village Muchal when suddenly the police forces led by Thanedar Utam Singh of Jandiala police station arrested him. The family thought that maybe there would be a lot of work in the fields, hence Bhai Sahib did not return home at the normal time. 

 

When half the night passed, the family got worried, then the family thought Bhai Sahib may have gone to a relative’s house but little did the family know that the wicked police officers first took Bhai Sahib to Jandiala and tortured him immensely, and then took him near village Gadli and martyred him along with another youth in a false encounter and did not hand over the bodies to their loved ones.
