Bhai Paramjit Singh Pamma was born from the blessed womb of Mata Chanan Kaur and in the house of Sardar Fauja Singh in the village Ghaseetpur Kalan, district Batala. Bhai Sahib had one elder brother and one younger brother. Sardar Fauja Singh was a farmer and provided for his family. Bhai Sahib studied upto 10th class and after he helped his father in farming. In 1975, Bhai Sahib was married to Bibi Manjit Kaur and they had 2 children, Bibi Kulwinder Kaur and Bhai Rupinder Singh.

 

During the year of 1986, the Khalistan movement was in full flow in Bhai Sahib’s area. Bhai Sahib also felt connected to the movement and gave his support where he could. Close friends along with many Sikh youths from Ghaseetpur and surrounding villages had joined the Jhujaru Singhs, amongst these were Bhai Charat Singh Ghaseetpur of Babbar Khalsa. Bhai Sahib did the Sewa of Langer for these Jhujaru Singhs, this became known to the local police and they started keeping an eye on Bhai Sahib and his family members. Bhai Sahib along with his family were also harassed by police officers.

 

Towards the end of 1986, Bhai Satnam Singh Mastana (village Bijliwal) was arrested from Bhai Sahib’s house after an informant had given this information to the Punjab police. Now the Punjab police knew Bhai Sahib had played a bigger role than what they had thought. Bhai Sahib had started being arrested and tortured by the Punjab police and only got released due to the pressure from family and local villagers. Bhai Sahib was also charged with false cases for which he spent time in jail for roughly 7 months. Due to the ill treatment at the hands of Indian security forces, Bhai Sahib started stayed away from home. Some time after the police declared Bhai Sahib as a fugitive on run. Bhai Sahib then openly joined the Babbar Khalsa group under the command of Bhai Charat Singh Babbar.

 

On 22nd November 1990, Bhai Sahib was resting on the outskirts of his village near to his water tubal. The police surrounded Bhai Sahib and managed to arrest him as he was unarmed. Bhai Sahib was taken to Sadar police station, Batala and brutally tortured for information on other Jhujaru Singhs. In the end, when no information was obtained, the police staged a fake encounter near Kalanaur and killed Bhai Paramjit Singh Pamma of Ghaseetpur Kalan.
