Shaheed Bhai Mukhtiar Singh Mukha

Shaheed Bhai Mukhtiar Singh Mukha was born in 1970 in the house of father, Sardar Karnail Singh and from the blessed womb of Mata Prasin Kaur in village Valtoha (Patti Bajran Di/ Sabo Ki Patti), Tehsil Patti, District Tarn Taran. The details of the seven siblings are as follows: – Bhai Sukhdev Singh (Shaheed), Bhai Mahinder Singh, Bhai Inder Singh, Bhai Mukhtiar Singh (Shaheed), Bhai Swaran Singh, Bibi Mahinder Kaur, Bibi Veer Kaur. While fighting in the battle for m Khalistan’s independence, Bhai Mukha’s elder brother, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Valtoha was martyred. Bhai Sahib came back from Assam to attend his martyred brother’s Bhog ceremony in village Valtoha. 

Then, after a few days, Bhai Mukhtiar Singh Mukha along with two of his friends from the village, Bhai Satpal Singh and Bhai Jaswant Singh Jassa went to visit his aunt in village Ratta Khera (Malot). All 3 of the Singhs stayed there at night. Bhai Sahib the jumped onto a bus to come back the next day, but the police stopped the bus and arrested all 3 Singhs. The Singhs were taken near village Kabarwala (near Muktsar) and were martyred in a fake police encounter on 23rd July 1991.

The next day the police fabricated a story in the newspapers:

‘We had e set up a checkpoint at night and when 3 unidentified and suspicious persons approached the checkpoint, the constable signalled them to stop but instead they opened fire and then the police retaliated. As a result, 3 terrorists were killed.’

According to additional information, all 3 Singhs went to get weapons from a place near Muktsar. These weapons belonged to the group of Shaheed Bhai Pipal Singh Toofan and Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Valtoha. Bhai Sahib Mukha was unable to locate these weapons.
