Shaheed Bhai Gurmail Singh Bihala

Bhindranwala Tigers Force of Khalistan 

 

Bhai Gurmail Singh Bihala sacrificed his life for the Sikh nation, following the path shown by Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. Bhai Gurmail Singh Bihala was born in the village of Bihala, district Hoshiarpur, to Mata Mohinder Kaur. His father’s name was Sardar Avtar Singh. Bhai Gurmail Singh was only five years old when his father passed away. Bhai Sahib had two sisters and a brother who is very naive and knows nothing about the world. Bhai Gurmail Singh’s family is a family that lives a Sikh way of life. Bhai Gurmel Singh Bihala received his education up to 10th class from a school in Jabowal. Bhai Gurmail Singh Bihala was very brave and had a very sweet personality. 

 

In June 1984, when the cruel government of India attacked the Sri Darbar Sahib and killed innocent Sikh women, children and elders, Bhai Sahib’s heart was very sad and he took a vow to serve justice to the anti-Sikh elements. After passing his 10th class, Bhai Sahib took admission at the ITI College of Hoshiarpur, it was here Bhai Sahib met Bhai Jasvir Singh Lalli, the General do Dusht Sodh Commando Force. Bhai Lalli was very active in Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Ropar areas. Bhai Sahib gave Bhai Lalli shelter at his college many times, but soon the police found out and arrested Bhai Sahib. This was his first arrest, he was blindly tortured and charged with harbouring Jhujaru Singhs. Bhai Sahib’s family were also victims of Hoshiarpur’s cruel harassment. After sometime, the police released Bhai Sahib. 

 

After a short time, when Bhai Jasvir Singh Lalli and his companions were martyred, Bhai Sahib’s mind was greatly shaken and he wanted to continue his fight for the Sikh nation. Bhai Sahib met the Jhujaru Singhs of the Khalistan Liberation Force and started serving with them. Bhai Sahib served with the Singhs of Khalistan Liberation Force for a short time because the area commanders of Hoshiarpur was injured in an encounter and sent to another place for treatment. Bhai Sahib lost contact with the high command of organisation. Then Bhai Sahib met Bhai Ranjit Singh Happy of Sassoli village, who had just been released after spending a long time in jail. Bhai Happy joined the Sikh struggle soon as he was released. Bhai Ranjit Singh Happy punished many anti-Sikh elements and started serving the Sikh Panth with determination. Bhai Sahib never harassed any poor person, but rather settled the abandoned girls of poor families in their in-law’s homes. 

 

One day, Bhai Sahib was making a bomb with a fellow Jhujaru Singh when the bomb exploded in his hand. Bhai Sahib and his Jhujaru brother were martyred in this way in Hoshiarpur. When the next day, the congregation of Hoshiarpur area came to know about his martyrdom, they expressed great sorrow and the Singhs of Bhindranwale Tigers Force felt a great loss, because Shaheed Bhai Gurmail Singh Bihala was a brave and very agile Singh, his martyrdom was an irreparable loss to the Sikh nation.
