Shaheed Bhai Bohar Singh Kalian Sakatran

Bhai Bohar Singh, was the elder brother of Shaheed Bhai Pipal Tofan of Kalian Sakatran village and was of very calm nature. After the martyrdom of Bhai Pipal Singh Toofan, Bhai Bohar Singh came in contact with Bhai Wadhawa Singh Babbar and secretly started serving in the Sikh struggle under the command of the Babbar Khalsa organisation.

 

Bhai Bohar Singh was happily married to Bibi Kuldeep Kaur. When their elder son was about to be born, Bhai Bohar Singh met his young brother, Shaheed Bhai Pipal Singh Toofan in a dream at night and said, “Big Brother, Jhujaru Singhs never dies. I will come again, and when I do, name me Pipal Singh.” Their son was born, and they named him Pipal Singh. Bhai Bohar Singh also has 2 daughters, Harjit Kaur and Harpreet Kaur.

 

There was a police tout of this village, who would call Indian security forces to come surround Jhujaru Singhs. Even after being warned by the Jhujaru Singhs, he did not deviate from being a police informant. Bhai Pipal Singh Toofan killed this police tout. The sons of the police informant on 12 Poh 1996, at 6 o’clock in the morning, attacked Bhai Bohar Singh as he was leaving home to visit a relative. The assassins hiding on the route of travel, attacked Bhai Bohar Singh with weapons and killed him.

 

Now (May 2010), Bibi Kuldeep Kaur is living with her three children, father-in-law Sardar Gurcharan Singh, mother-in-law Mata Joginder Kaur, in village Kalian Sakatran.
