Shaheed Bhai Bhupinder Singh Gondpur

Khalistan Commando Force 

 

Khalistani Jhujaru, Shaheed Bhai Bhupinder Singh Bhinda was born in 1960. He was born in village Gondpur, district Hoshiarpur from the blessed womb of Mata Tarsem Kaur and in the house of Sardar Pritam Singh. The details of the six siblings are as follows, eldest being, Bibi Gurdev Kaur, Bibi Kashmir Kaur, Bhai Pargat Singh, Shaheed Bhai Bhupinder Singh Bhinda, Bhai Satnam Singh and the youngest, Bibi Avtar Kaur. Bhai Sahib got his education till the fifth standard from the government school of his village and then started farming with his father. He was a very devoted Gursikh and he was highly respected in the area. Being influenced by the words of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Bhai Sahib took Amrit from Panj Pyare and started to participate in the Dharam Yudh Morcha.

 

The attack of June 1984 broke Bhai Sahib’s heart and he started to be very depressed. After some time, Bhai Sahib got in touch with Bhai Ranjit Singh Bihala and Bhai Prem Singh Kaulgarh of Khalistan Commando Force, under whose leadership Bhai Sahib started serving secretly in the armed struggle for the freedom of Khalistan. In those days, Bhai Sahib had bought 10 Kille of land on lease at village Jandoli (near Chabbewal) and used to cultivate there. This area was renowned for Jhujaru Singhs to have many hideouts here. For the freedom of Khalistan, Bhai Sahib served the Jhujaru Singhs who were fighting against the Indian government with a shroud on their heads, with his body, mind, and money, and arranged shelter, food and at times participated in combative actions. The police came to know about Bhai Sahib’s activities. The police started harassing him a lot, but he remained steadfast and maintained contact with the Jhujaru Singhs.

 

On 28th October 1988, Bhai Ranjit Singh Bihala and other militants of Khalistan Commando Force were staying at their camp in Jandoli village when an informer gave up their location to the police. Within few hours, Hindustani forces came and surrounded the village, slowly marching towards the house the Jhujaru Singhs were staying at. Bhai Bhupinder Singh adopted a special strategy, quickly and cleverly distracted the police and CRPF in the encounter. Alone, Bhai Sahib bravely fought against the Indian security forces and this assisted his fellow Jhujaru brothers to escape from the back and reach safe places. After running out of ammunition, Bhai Bhupinder Singh came into the hands of the police and the monsters hiding in khaki uniform beat Bhai Bhupinder Singh to death.
