Shaheed Bhai Baldev Singh Lalpura
Bhindranwala Tigers Force of Khalistan
Shaheed Bhai Baldev Singh Deba was born in 1973 in the house of Sardar Charan Singh and from the blessed womb of Mata Kartar Kaur in village Lalpura, district Tarn Taran. Bhai Sahib has three elder brothers, Bhai Jagjit Singh, Bhai Kuldeep Singh and Bhai Sukhdev Singh. Sardar Dara Singh was engaged in agriculture. Bhai Sahib studied till 8th standard. After the battle of Amritsar in June 1984, when the armed struggle for the independence of Khalistan began, Bhai Sahib also joined the militant organisation, Bhindranwala Tigers Force of Khalistan and started carrying out Jhujaru actions. Bhai Sahib had a lot of love and respect for the renowned Jhujaru, Bhai Gurvinder Singh Galna (Khadur Sahib).
One day, Bhai Sahib was going to the historical Gurdwara, Sri Goindwal Sahib for worship and bathing, but on the way, the Punjab police arrested him. He was brought to the CIA staff of Tarn Taran and tortured severely, and then Bhai Sahib was martyred by the police in a fake police encounter. His martyred body and any other belongings were not given to the family. The police also took away his photographs. His brother, Bhai Kuldeep Singh informed our team that the family had to suffer for many months due to the atrocities of the Punjab police. The family do not know the date and year of arrest or martyrdom, but they say it was around 1991-92.
