Shaheed Bhai Baljeet Singh Babbi alias Bhai Gulab Singh - Khalistan Armed Force

Bhai Baljeet Singh Babbi was born on 1st December 1969 in the house of Sardar Burh Singh and from the womb of Mata Sawinder Kaur in the village of Rai Chakk, District Batala. Bhai Sahib had a younger brother, Bhai Amarjit Singh. Bhai Sahib was bought up in a family that made its honest living from working in a flour milling shop near the bus station of Rai Chakk village. Bhai Sahib had studied uptil BA, Bhai Sahib was very intelligent and always passed his exams with high scores. In 1984, Bhai Sahib passed his 12th class from a government school in Maman with 70% score. Bhai Sahib fully spoke and understood the English language. Due to Bhai Sahib being a top student, he also got awards from school to acknowledge his hard work. Bhai Sahib was also a very active sportsman and had won many trophies for his school in Kho-Kho.

After passing 12th class, Bhai Sahib went to Amritsar to further his education qualifications in BA. To pay for his studies Bhai Sahib had opened his own business in his home village of Rai Chakk, so his parents would not financially struggle. Bhai Sahib's family were all Amritdhari and Bhai Sahib had also taken Amrit in his childhood from the Jatha of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale in Amritsar. In Bhai Sahib's youth hood there was a grave of a cult leader next to the village Gurudwara, locals would first go Gurudwara and then bow down to this grave after. Bhai Sahib challenged this practise in front of all the villagers and with the help of locals, he removed the grave from the village. Bhai Sahib was attached to Gurbani and Bana, Bhai Sahib would daily do his Nitnem. Bhai Sahib had a calm and fair personality. Bhai Sahib had many cassettes of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale's speeches and he would regularly listen to them.

Bhai Sahib went to Guru Nanak Dev University to study his BA degree and it was here Bhai Sahib came in contact with Jhujaru Singhs. Bhai Sahib started doing sewa with the Jhujaru Singhs in secret, but this was short lived and the police soon arrested Bhai Sahib from his village. Bhai Sahib was charged with many cases, most of them were fake but still Bhai Sahib was sent to jail. Even in jail Bhai Sahib did not leave his studies, he gave his BA exams in jail. Bhai Sahib was released on bail after 5 or 6 months, even after this the Punjab Police continued to harass Bhai Sahib. Due to the daily harassment from the police Bhai Sahib decided to leave his family home and fully join the Jhujaru Singhs to fight for a fairer and safer country for the Sikhs "Khalistan". Bhai Sahib joined the Jhujaru Singhs of Khalistan Armed Force which included Singhs such as Bhai Sarabjit Singh Dharamkot, Bhai Kawaljit Singh Sarvali, and Bhai Mahinder Singh Bijliwal. Bhai Sahib fought in the armed struggle according to the Sikh values and ethics. Bhai Sahib never went to a house where there were young women and he also commanded this upon other Jhujaru Singhs in his group. Bhai Sahib treated everyone with love and spoke to everyone with respect. Bhai Sahib would encourage locals to take Amrit and he was only favour of total freedom from India.

In June 1990, Bhai Sahib was active in his area along with fellow Jhujaru Singhs. Bhai Sahib had many encounters with the enemy forces and each time he caused damage to the enemy and escaped. Bhai Sahib's name was said with respect by the locals and with fear by the enemy. All of the public in Bhai Sahib's area backed Bhai Sahib and his ways of fighting the struggle. On 4th June 1990, Bhai Sahib was in a disguise and was travelling to the village of Kotli, an informant had passed on this information to the police. The police stopped the bus and arrested the unarmed Bhai Sahib. After he was taken to a nearby police station and blindly tortured, but Bhai Sahib did not give any information to the police. Then finally on the 5th of June 1990, the police made Bhai Sahib Shaheed in a fake encounter on the outskirts of Dera Baba Nanak.
