From the religious land of Sri Mukhatsar a well-known dhadi, Sardar Ujagar Singh had witnessed his youngest son, Bhai Bhupinder Singh do sewa within the Sikh Freedom Movement Freedom and attain shaheedi at a very young age. Bhai Sahib was born from the womb of Mata Amarjit Kaur and father, Sardar Ujagar Singh was a Dhadi who after the attack on Sri Harimandir Sahib in June 1984 pumped the blood of the Sikh youth in Punjab with his Dhadi Vaaran. Bhai Sahib was a man of principle and Sikh values, just like his father. Bhai Sahibs name was on the hit-list of the Indian security forces due to his family and their views.

Bhai Sahib passed his 8th class from the government school in Mukhatsar and then completed his 10th class at Khalsa School. Bhai Sahib also was a great player of hockey and always full of stamina. Bhai Sahib had attained shaheedi before getting his exam results for 10th class.

One cannot enter a struggle only because of the love for the panth. It is a serious mistake to think that the enemy is weak and enter the battlefield with only confidence. Then the armed struggle becomes even more dangerous. The Sikh genocide that took place all over India in 1984, filled the whole Sikh nation with anger especially the youth. This was the reason why many Sikh teenagers never thought twice of picking up a weapon and joining the armed struggle. At first the young Jhujaru Singhs did small actions in small groups but when freedom fighting groups were established these young Jhujaru Singhs joined their desired group. Many groups were being made all over Punjab. The number of groups had reached 16 only in Punjab. The sad news is some of these groups were made by Indian security forces, who were trying to kill the movement and cause as much damage to the Jhujarus.

In 1987, Bhai Sahib had completed his exams for the 10th class. It was in these days the singhs established a group called Sholay Regiment (Fire Rocks) was made in which Bhai Sahib was involved. This group was made by 5 singhs who were all under the age of 20 years. This group did not have a lot of experience and nor did they have good weapons. All they had was the immense love for the Sikh panth and the pain of the Sikhs. They had jumped into the battlefield with very basic weapons.

The regiment that only been up and running for 3 days, when the singhs attacked a CRPF checkpoint near the village of Charewan. One of the singhs, Bhai Hardev Singh Charewan attained shaheedi in this action and 3 singhs managed to escape, but Bhai Sahib was arrested by the Indian security forces. Bhai Sahib was taken to Siti police station in Mukhatsar. Here Bhai Sahib was blindly tortured. It may have been that the police were taking their anger of Sardar Ujagar Singh out on his son. Three days after the arrest of Bhai Sahib on 23rd May 1987. A police party under the command of SHO Napinder Bajwa took Bhai Sahib to the outskirts of village Mudhikhera near Malot. Bhai Sahib was taken to a brick making factory, here the hands and feet of Bhai Sahib were tied and after drowning him in petrol the evil police officers set fire to Bhai Sahib. Bhai Sahib attained shaheedi at a very young age as the Indian security forces watched.
