The history of the Sikh Kaum is filled with sacrifices, whenever anyone has tried to eliminate the Sikh Kaum, the Sikh Panth have stood against them and the young and brave warriors have sacrificed themselves and have made the Sikh Kaum proud. It is true that a few years back, Punjab had lost everything. The tornado has engulfed even some of our great and famous Sikh personalities. In the struggle for justice that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale started many brave warriors attained Shaheedi for the panth. In this list, there is one particular name that shines from afar just like a star and that is Professor Rajinderpal Singh Gill. Professor Rajinderpal Singh was born on June 1939 at village number 659 district Liyalpur. Bhai Sahib's father was Sardar Kirpal Singh and mother was Mata Bhagwant Kaur. Bhai Sahib went to his local convent school but after 1947, Bhai Sahib moved to his ancestral village where Bhai Sahib received his primary education from a local school of village Gillaan. After completing his P.A.U in Ludhiana Bhai Sahib completed his B.S.C and worked as an Agriculture Inspector.

Bhai Sahib got married in 1967 in Sarava Bodla District Faridkot to Sardar Harsha Singh's daughter Bibi Rajinder Kaur. Due to the family being very religious, Bhai Sahib had found a great match. In 1968 after completing his S.S.C Bhai Sahib worked in a University as a Professor for agriculture.

Bhai Sahib first came in contact with Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale in 1982 when Bhai Sahib came to meet the deputation lawyer when Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale was arrested and after that day Bhai Sahib met Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale many more times and Sant Ji's affection grew so much for Bhai Sahib that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale used to let Bhai Sahib sit with him for many hours.

In 1984 when the Indian Army attacked and disrespected Sri Darbar Sahib, many Sikhs were restless and just like them Bhai Sahib was really hurt. And then in November 1984 when Indira Gandhi was killed it sparked the Delhi Genocide, where Bhai Sahibs cousin Captain Satinder Singh was killed in Mathra. These events mentally affected Bhai Sahib so bad, that Bhai Sahib made up his mind up that there is only one purpose of his life now and that's to be part of the Sikh struggle. After Saka Neela Tara Bhai Sahib got in touch with undercover Khadkus. Bhai Sahib got all the Khadku movements that were separate together. Bhai Sahib was an intelligent and wise soul and due to this Bhai Sahib was elected as the Sikh Student Federation Advisor and alongside that he worked in Shiromani Akali Dal. It was during this time that the police started to harass Bhai Sahib's family but even then Bhai Sahib stayed strong and concentrated on his mission. Bhai Sahib went undercover, just like they say 'Soorme Sudha Charde Paniya Nu Turiya Karde Han'- 'Brave warriors normally swim towards the rising tide'. Meanwhile Bhai Sahib went undercover Bhai Sahib worked hard day and night to accomplish his goal. In the end on the 25 of January 1989 a snitch informed the police about Bhai Sahib, Bhai Sahib was arrested in sector 15 of Chandigarh, the C.I.E staff Ludhiana interrogated and tortured Bhai Sahib. Another two undercover Khadku Singhs were arrested. The Two Khadku Singhs and Bhai Sahib were taken to Khera Beth, where the brave warriors attained Shaheedi in a false police encounter. The news of Bhai Sahib's death spread in the University where Bhai Sahib worked like fire, and shook the whole University. Bhai Sahibs contribution towards the University was priceless and worth praising. Not everyone is worthy of being able to sacrifice themselves for the panth, the responsibility Bhai Sahib had on his shoulders Bhai Sahib fulfilled it, Bhai Sahib accomplished his mission. Even till this day the Bhai Sahib's University colleagues and his family are still upset about his death.

We pay our tribute to Professor Rajinderpal Singh a brave warrior and a gem of the panth!
