The freedom struggle started by the Khalsa panth, countless singhs and singhnia contributed with their lives, Bhai Malkiat Singh Khujala alias Bhai Paramjit Singh Pappu (Area Commander) was born on 4th October 1972, in the house of Sardar Chanchal Singh and from the womb of Mata Charan Kaur in village Khujala, district Gurdaspur. Bhai Sahib had 2 brothers and 1 sister. Bhai Sahib passed his metric from Khujala high school and passed his 10th and +2 from sports college of Jalandhar. Bhai Sahib was great Kabbadi player and was also good in Football. Bhai Sahib had a great humble personality and spoke to everyone with respect. Bhai Sahib took amrit on 13th April 1988 on Visakhi. Bhai Sahib never missed his nitnem, in fact Bhai Sahib would recite more prayers then the basic nitnem.

Bhai Sahib didn't get involved into household duties and went to Damdami Taksal Chownk Mehta and started learning Gatka and doing Gurbani santhaya. Bhai Sahib couldn't tolerate the injustices done on the Sikh panth and the disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. After the attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, Bhai Sahib went to Sri Harimandir Sahib and did Ardas and after started the Part of Sikh Freedom Movement

Soon Bhai Sahib came in contact with Lt General of Bhai Wassan Singh Zaffarwal's Khalistan Commando Force, Bhai Jaswant Singh Ahluwalia. Bhai Sahib was man if his word and never went back on his word. Bhai Sahib in a young age and in short time did big actions, due to this reason Bhai Sahib was given the rank of Area Commander. Bhai Sahib was strictly against the victimization of the poor and weak people and for this reason the looters never came close to Bhai Sahibs area after becoming Area Commander. Bhai Sahib remained humble and continued to do even bigger actions. Bhai Sahib remained loyal to every Khadku Singh of the Sikh Freedom Movement throughout his life.

On 13th August 1991, the day was Tuesday, Area Commander Bhai Paramjit Singh Pappu and fellow Khadku singhs, Bhai Jaswant Singh Ahluwalia, Bhai Mangal Babbar were resting in a house on the out skirts of Khujala village, when an informant gave this information to the Punjab Police, within hours Punjab police, BSF and CRPF had surrounded the area. According to the reports of the newspapers from 8am in the morning to 5pm in the evening, an intense battle took place in which Indian security force suffered many casualties. In the end all three singhs, who were loved by the local especially the poor, attained shaheedi on the battlefield fighting the thousands of Indian soldiers. These warriors will never be forgotten, their bravery and loyalty will keep them in the hearts of every Sikh.
